No. We build your books from your bank statements, card statements, and cash records. If you already use QuickBooks Online, we work from it. You receive finished monthly statements; there is nothing for you to buy or maintain. If you already keep your own books in accounting software, Insight gives you the analysis without changing who keeps them.
Yes. That is what Insight is for. Your bookkeeper keeps the books, and we deliver the benchmark, ratios, trends and advisory brief from them, monthly or quarterly.
Before every analysis we run a books health check. If the books aren’t ready, you get a report showing what to fix instead of an analysis built on bad numbers. We can quote the cleanup, or keep the books for you on a plan.
By monthly transaction volume, number of accounts and how often you use cash. Bookkeeping starts at $325 a month. Use Get a quote and we prepare your price, confirmed from one month of your statements before you commit. Payment is by bank transfer (ACH), with no fee.
The assessment looks back at a year you’ve already finished and shows where the money went. A plan keeps your books every month going forward. You can start with the assessment to see the size of the opportunity. The Improvement Plan is the next step for clients on a plan: it turns what we find into actions with owners and dates.
Cash leaves no bank record, so each cash payment needs a receipt or note and counts as a transaction. Businesses that run on cash weekly are quoted for the extra work.
Yes. Months that are behind in the current year are caught up first and quoted separately before we begin. Prior years are quoted as custom work.
Annual is paid upfront at a lower monthly rate. It is a one-year commitment: if you cancel during the year, the prepayment is not refunded. Monthly costs more and you can cancel anytime.
Review calls hold time on your CPA’s calendar that is set aside for you. To cancel or reschedule, give at least 48 business hours’ notice (2 business days). A call cancelled, rescheduled or missed with less notice is forfeited for that quarter. If you still want to meet that quarter, a replacement 30-minute call can be arranged for the additional fee set out in your engagement letter.
Each cost category for your industry (each line of business against its own industry, if you run more than one) against its industry average, its typical range and its top performers, on a trailing 12 months. Basic includes it once, at onboarding, built from your last 12 months of statements. Advanced repeats it every month, adds your key financial ratios, shows what each gap is worth in dollars, and adds a detailed operational analysis of the transactions behind it.
